JRA names a number of Midrand locations among flooding hotspots

A number of roads within the Midrand area have been highlighted as flooding hotspots by the JRA.

With the recent storms across the City, the Johannesburg Roads Agency has provided hotspots for areas susceptible to flooding, with many of these being in the Midrand area.

Ivory Park, Rabie Ridge, Glen Austin, Kaalfontein, Vorna Valley and Kyalami Estates are among the areas that JRA has warned motorists to be cautious of during heavy storms.

JRA urges the public to:

  • Drive cautiously and avoid flooded areas.
  • Report any road damage or blockages immediately.
  • Stay informed about weather warnings and advisories.
  • Regional standby teams are constantly monitoring and responding to any flooding emergencies, and the public is encouraged to contact the depot closest to them:
