Noordwyk Secondary teacher’s proud of her subject pass rate since she joined

Tshenelo Rosinah Zwane says last year (2022) her pass percentage in Afrikaans was 99%, almost 100% pass rate in the subject.

Since she took over the Afrikaans language at Noordwyk Secondary School, Tshenelo Rosinah Zwane is proud to have produced remarkable grades.

In 2017, Zwane joined the school and six years later, she prides herself, saying Afrikaans is her special subject and she enjoys teaching it.

“In my first year in the school, I produced 100% with a distinction in Afrikaans. Since I joined the school, my results have been between 98% and 100% with few or a distinction every year. In the class of 2020, I had one child who got 94 in Afrikaans. Last year my pass percentage was 99%,” said Zwane.

Talking in the paper about her teaching journey, Zwane (54) said after completing her teaching diploma in 1991, she started teaching in 1992 at a school in Hammanskraal called Rakgotso Secondary School.

Zwane described her teaching journey as a nice one coupled with some challenges that everyone faces in the teaching profession.

“[But] I am a hardworking person, harsh at times but very loving. I don’t like being late or absent from work unless it’s a situation beyond my control. I believe I need to work for every cent I earn. The love I have for children though sometimes it’s overpowered by my harshness but I love children,” added Zwane.

She enjoys jogging although she has stopped for some time now and only doing just excises at home, and also reading books.

Zwane concluded that her interest will be training young teachers and advising them on how to be successful in this teaching profession.
