Content creator and photographer shares his journey

Meet 21-year-old Sthembiso Mkhatshwa as he redefines his content creation journey.

Content creator Sthembiso Mkhatshwa (21) has carved a distinctive path by seamlessly blending his roles as a YouTuber, photographer, and video editor.
He started when he was 17 years old, using his cellphone and got a personal computer four years later.

Through his captivating visuals and authentic approach, Mkhatshwa has garnered admiration from viewers around the world, transcending boundaries and making his mark in the digital realm.

Over time, he began experimenting with video editing on his phone, and the positive feedback he received pushed him to refine his skills further.

“My turning point was discovering YouTuber, Danny Gonzalez, whose commentary and reviews inspired me to showcase my editing prowess. Now, I combine these passions to produce content that resonates with viewers,” said Mkhatshwa.

He said maintaining a balance between his roles as a content creator on YouTube, a photographer, and a video editor could be a juggling act. He said content creation had become an integral part of his daily routine, often kicking off around 02:00, seamlessly integrating into his lifestyle.

“On the other hand, photography gigs and video editing projects are more sporadic, allowing me to accommodate school assignments and deadlines. Despite the challenges, my unwavering passion fuels my commitment to both content creation and life beyond it.”

He said his content often captured moments and told stories. “My storytelling approach draws inspiration from renowned filmmakers. I focus on a couple of themes and explore them through various characters and plotlines, and lately, I draw aspirations from cinematography.
“This approach leaves room for interpretation, allowing viewers to engage emotionally without being overwhelmed by excessive details.”

When asked about his plans as a content creator, he said he wanted to be recognised in South Africa as well because most of his audience was in Europe, Asia, and North America.
