Young learners to learn from experienced principal
Experienced principal from President Park hopes to take her new school, Earth Kids to greater heights with her knack and experience.
President Park-based teacher and principal believes the process of teaching and learning for young learners is imperative as it determines the rest of their school years.
Yvette Page, who is a principal at Communitas Earth Kids Pre-Primary School in Crowthorne says Early Childhood Development (ECD) is important as it helps with the need to grasp new knowledge quickly.
Page (49) shared her first month since her appointment as the principal of Earth Kids which was effective from July this year.
“Education is my passion, especially in the ECD sector. My first month at Earth Kids, has been very motivating and I love the challenge that lies ahead. I am very lucky to have a strong dedicated staff, parents and learners. My teaching career started 30 years ago and it has been a roller-coaster of a journey. I was the principal of Building Blocks Pre-Primary School in Sanridge in 2007 for the first time and it was a great job where I gained a lot of experience,” said Page.
This is Page’s fourth principal position and she describes herself as a person who loves and enjoys interacting with people and experiencing different cultures and personalities.
“Outside the school environment, I am very family-orientated. I don’t have a lot of free time but when I do, I spend it with my family, watching movies. My church and community are also very important to me. I have always been very passionate about my family and education in general.”
Asked where she would you like to see herself in the next five years or so, Page said she would like to see herself at Earth Kids having made a difference in the lives of the people in the community.
