Midrand Christ Church-based Mohau Counselling Centre continues to play a vital role in healing communities and changing the lives of those who visit the organisation.

On July 27, the organisation held an open day where victims of abuse shared their stories on how the centre had helped them tackle all the interlinked roots of trauma and abuse, whether it was gender-based violence, unplanned pregnancies, substance abuse or domestic violence.

The centre’s CEO, Kathy Combrink, said they healed communities by addressing all the roots of trauma and abuse in all its forms through professional counselling.
“Our vision includes counselling abuse perpetrators. We believe only when all have a chance to heal will we stop the cycle of abuse and enable South Africa to fulfil its fruitful promise,’ Combrink said.

Mohau, which means ‘mercy’ continues to encourage the community to partner with them to curb all these ills.
