Midrand allegedly sees an increase of solar theft according to an energy company in Midrand

Following the robbery of solar panels in their premises, a Midrand-based company believes there is a spike of robbery incidents around Midrand that has spiralled into other businesses and residential places.

Huanyu Energy says it is deeply concerned about the recent spate of solar panel thefts affecting commercial and residential properties.
In a statement released by the company, said on July 6, their premises in Midrand fell victim to a brazen robbery of solar panels.
“We are urging the public to assist us where possible in recovering the stolen merchandise. Huanyu Energy, a leading distributor of Solargiga solar panels in Africa, is issuing this media statement to raise awareness among the public about the potential risks associated with purchasing panels from illicit sources, such as the black market,” read the statement.

The company further urged individuals to exercise vigilance when considering the purchase of second-hand goods on various social media platforms
“It is imperative that buyers take necessary precautions to ensure that the goods they are acquiring are not stolen. By remaining cautious and verifying the legitimacy of the products they purchase, individuals can play a crucial role in combating the illegal trade of solar panels,” added the statement.

It urged anyone who might come across Solargiga panels being advertised to kindly contact Huanyu Energy to verify if these panels belong to us.

“These panels can be identified as follows: A Solargiga Energy sticker on the back of the panel or a barcoded serial number starting with a Y under the glass that cannot be removed. By reporting any potential sightings or suspicious activities involving Solargiga solar panels, you can greatly assist us in apprehending the culprits and recovering our stolen inventory,” further read the statement.
