Curro Midrand San Ridge and Sagewood preschool campuses host a programme for learners during the winter holidays

It is a different winter holiday for Curro learners as they have a refreshing break programme.

Curro is hosting a Curriculum Break programme during the winter holidays to give learners a breather from academics.

The Curriculum Break programme at Curro Midrand San Ridge and Sagewood preschool campuses is designed to provide a vibrant and immersive experience for the little ones. The programme incorporates various elements such as food, sound, music, dance, interactive videos, and storytelling to engage and educate the learners.

During the first week of the programme, learners had the opportunity to explore the mathematical concept of Pi. They learned that Pi was approximately equal to 3.14 and is used in shapes and numbers. The learners were also introduced to the concept of circles, such as the shape of a pie or pizza.
They learned about Pi Day, which is celebrated on March 14 because the date resembles the first three digits of Pi (3.14). Week one ended with learners showcasing their artistic and culinary talents by crafting salt dough into their very own pizzas with imaginative and colourful toppings.

In the second week, the learners explored colours through the story Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes by Eric Litwin. The various activities involved discussions and activities centred around different colours.

Week three of the programme promises even more fun as the learners will dive into the story The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. They will have the opportunity to explore healthy foods and learn about the fascinating lifecycle of a butterfly.

The programme not only allows the learners to unleash their imaginations and creativity but also provides parents with peace of mind, knowing that their children are engaged in constructive holiday care within a safe and nurturing environment. This is particularly beneficial for parents who may not have family support during the holidays.
They can rely on the school’s holiday care programme to ensure that their children continue to learn and grow even when school is not in regular session.
