Midrand-based NPO donates blankets and food parcels to Ivory Park kids

Connect to Feed founder Upama Srivastava said, "We feel incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to spread happiness to those in need."

Connect to Feed NPO continued with its unwavering support of destitute children around Midrand when it held its latest initiative, The Winter Drive, on July 2.

In partnership with the Nedbank Insurance Technology team, the NPO distributed blankets, and warm winter wear such as hats, gloves and socks to Ivory Park children.

Founder of the NPO Upama Srivastava said they also donated 200 gift hampers which included maize meal and soup mix, necessities such as candles, and treats for the children.
“The Winter Drive in Ivory Park was a resounding success, bringing smiles and warmth to countless faces. We feel incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to spread happiness to those in need. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for all the generous donations and unwavering support we received from Nedbank and the community,” said Srivastava.

It is not the first time the NPO had hosted this series of Winter Drives as they visited the area last year.
Srivastava said the children were elated and this was evident by their smiling faces.
“Aside from the joy that they felt, they were filled with gratitude. The parents and guardians of the children expressed their sincere appreciation and heartfelt gratitude for the support.”

She said the Nedbank team had actively participated in fundraising and collections for the Winter Drive and had assisted in the distribution of the hampers.

A Nedbank business analyst Besham Suredin said their involvement was part of their annual CSI initiative to uplift communities.

“Nedbank Insurance does see a great partner in Connect to Feed and we look forward to partnering with this great organisation soon. As Nedbankers, we have an amazing opportunity to help change the world because Nedbank supports our purpose to #BeTheDifference by not only making funding available for volunteers to work with NPOs but also by giving them time off to do good,” concluded Suredin.
