Curro New Road learners honoured with half and full colours for their hard work in the 2022 academic year

The head of the school expressed gratitude to learners and educators for making them proud of their achievements.

Curro New Road recently hosted the awards ceremony for its 2022 top achievers.

The recipients of these awards not only worked hard last year, but even in previous years. As a result, they’ve also received; academic scrolls, half, and full colours on their blazers for consistently excelling in their academics.

The event took place on February 8 at the school premises in Midrand. The school is a Digital Education (DigiEd) school that started in 2020 with Grade 8, phasing in other grades over the years, up to Grade 11 with 590 learners.

The digital education system is not easy, as the learners have to be self-disciplined to achieve the best, thus, the school celebrates the hard work of these learners.

Nosipho Sishuba the head of the school expressed gratitude to the school for making the school proud with their achievements. “We are really proud of how hard they have worked and how they managed to consistently achieve great results, you have to get an average of 80% and above to get academic colours, it is a big deal, and our learners always deliver,” said Sishuba.

The school has been around for four years now, and the first Grade 12 class will be the Class of 2024. “If the learners keep up the excellent work, the school can get a 100% pass rate and even have some of their learners represent the school within Gauteng and nationwide.”
