Charity shop to be opened at the Society for Animals in Distress

The Barn Charity shop will operate from Monday to Friday between 9:00 and 15:00.

The Society for Animals in Distress (Said) is ecstatic to be opening their much-awaited charity shop on their farm based in Vorna Valley.

The Barn Charity shop will officially open on November 26.
Admin and donor manager Sally Tagg said the shop would sell second-hand items such as clothes, books, furniture, kitchen items and electrical items. “It is important for the shop at the farm to gain awareness in the local community of what we do at Said. As an NPO, the shop will assist the organisation to be able to assist more animals in the less fortunate areas that we are presently assisting in Tembisa, Olievenhoutbosch, Diepsloot and Ivory Park,” said Tagg.

She said the idea of having a charity shop had always been in the pipeline and they decided this year would be the right time to open it. “We did not want to build the shop from scratch as we have utilised an existing building. We have been working on the conversion for about six weeks.”
Tagg hoped to have lots of visitors for the opening as it would be Black Friday weekend.
The shop will open from Mondays to Fridays from 09:00 to 15:00.
