Andhra Sabha celebrates Deepavali (more commonly known as Diwali) festival which symbolises the spiritual victory of light over darkness, and good over evil.
Moodley said the festival gets its name from the rows of lights in the evenings outside the homes of many Hindus, which symbolises the inner light that protects them from negative challenges and darkness.

“We would like to invite the Andhra community to join Midrand Andhra Sabha. We are living in highly troubled times of unbelievable life turbulences such as rapes and other social ills. It is important for each of us to love, appreciate and forgive each other,” said Moodley.
