Midrand High School hosts matric valediction for learners

Overall top achievers in different subjects from term one to three were given awards.

Midrand High School recently hosted a matric valediction for its learners at the school.

The annual event marks the end of the matrics’ school career, where teachers bid a fond farewell to the learners.

Overall, top achievers in different subjects from term one to three were given awards as well as the Dux Scholar Award winner was announced.

The Dux award is the highest award a school can bestow on a learner as it is the overall award for academic excellence

Midrand High School learner Christopher Chetty wins the 2020 Dux Scholar Award.

The 2022 Dux Scholar Award was given to Christopher Chetty who received a bursary from the University of Pretoria.

Christopher also got awards for top achiever in computer application technology with 90%, mathematics with 89%, and physical science with 85%.

Other subjects’ top achievers included:

  • Murendeni Mudau – English home language 84%
  • Minenhle Ntuli – IsiZulu 95%
  • Hayden Chetty – mathematical literacy 82%
  • Shanice Van Wyk and Christopher Chetty – physical science 85%
  • Motshabi Mmoloke – life science 88%
  • Katlego Molotsi – geography 83%
  • Siphesihle Tabethe – history 83%
  • Asanda Maseko and Akhona Mkhize – business studies 98%
  • Shanice Van Wyk – economics 90%
  • Miguel Marindanase – visual art 99%
  • Ryan Naidoo – design 81%
