Local publisher makes strides in publishing space

“I attended MGI now called Eduvos Midrand studying my LLB (Bachelor in Law) degree but I dropped out in the second year because I suddenly lost passion,” said Tsenase.

After dropping out twice in higher education institutions, Webster Tsenase is surely making a name for himself in the publishing industry.

Webster Tsenase, founder and CEO of TW Publishers, has won several global awards, including the publishing company of the year by the South African Prestige Awards 2022.

In 2021, TW Publishers won best book publisher for speakers, entrepreneurs and coaches, and an award for innovation in author brand building and publishing company of the year.

Webster (34) was born in Tembisa township in an area called Emkhathini [space, atmosphere, mid-air] and currently resides in Midrand’s Kyalami.

He said his journey has been nothing short of adventurous as he started out with nothing but a hunger for living a great life even when he did not know what kind of life he wanted.

“I always felt that there was something extraordinary I would do in my life but I never knew what it would be until I had a dream in 2011 that changed my life. I had been praying ‘Lord show me your purpose for my life’ until I had a dream where I was sitting on a chair and there was a big desk in front of me with books stacked up on each other.”

Webster added that in the dream, there were many people surrounding him, and it seemed chaotic but at the same time it was peaceful.

“I then woke up perplexed but about 10 seconds later it’s like I just knew what to do. That’s how I ended up in the publishing industry and wrote my first book.”

TW Publishers was officially registered in November 2014, but had been trading under that name since 2013.

“I am proud of what I’ve been able to achieve by using my God-given gifts to assist clients all around the world. However, I feel like I have not accomplished anything – there’s still more to do globally.”
