Langa produced a man-of-the-match performance as Curro thrashed Midrand High 4–1
Midrand High went close on three occasions, forcing sharp saves from Curros’ Langa Maphumulo.
Curro Sagewood enjoyed a home win against Midrand High School as they eased to a 4–1 victory on May 18 in an U14 school league soccer match.
Curro had the best chance of the first half on seven minutes with Nkosana Skhosana’s arrowed low shot, which Midrand’s shot-stopper did well to save.
The home side took the lead after 15 minutes when Nkosana took a long run to the opposition’s 18-yard box and struck a weak effort into the bottom corner.
The lively Nkosana, who was on a mission to rip apart Midrand High, fired a shot wide from the edge of the area as Curro continued to press.
Immediately after halftime, Curro doubled their lead when Neo Leokaoke looped the ball into the net after Midrands’ keeper lost possession.
Neo completed his brace of the day three minutes after his opener, sending Midrand’s keeper the wrong way to make it 3–0 to the home side.

Although Langa held up well to deny Midrand High a goal, he was finally beaten from distance after a powerful rocket from the visitor’s Kudakwashe Pandawiwa.
Midrand High pressed for a second but found Langa in inspired form as he made another two stunning saves just before Nqubeko Shabangu scored with a brilliant first-time finish.
