Local footwear brand owner wants to create more jobs

HALFWAY HOUSE — Machabaphala aspires to create as many job opportunities as possible for local people.

Having the vision to grow his young footwear company in the Midrand area, Tshoarelo Glen Machabaphala, founder and CEO of 4GY footwear, also hopes to create more jobs in the area.

4GY footwear is a local sneaker brand from Midrand ‘Mzansi sneakers for winners’. According to its founder, it is a Mzansi brand that celebrates Ubuntu, winners, movers and the Gs from all spheres of life.

“We aim to positively contribute significantly to youth employment and create opportunities. It is a Mzansi sneaker brand that symbolises hope. 4Gy sneakers for the real Gs,” Machabaphala said.

His goal is to build a premium sneaker brand that caters to the average South African. Machabaphala aspires to create as many job opportunities as possible for local people.

The brand currently has few employees but the ultimate goal is to hire more people with the hope of fighting unemployment. It was established in March 2020, and the first sneaker was sold from his home until October 2021, when he opened a showroom in Midrand, Halfway House.

The brand to date is online-based and available on all social media platforms and its website. “4GY is more than just a sneaker brand it is about a winning mentality, hence ‘Mzansi sneakers for winners’. Everyone has a story and winning should be the ultimate goal,” Machabaphala concluded.
