Lucky M Foundation appeals for school shoes and sanitary pad donations

KYALAMI – Lucky Matabela, founder of the Lucky M Foundation, said that potential donors can call for banking details or buy the shoes and sanitary pads and he will collect.

The Lucky M Foundation has called on all entrepreneurs and members of the community to assist them in changing the lives of the less-fortunate children through donations of school shoes and sanitary pads.

The Lucky M Foundation was founded by Lucky Matabela, an entrepreneur and a resident of Midrand.

The foundation focuses on assisting families struggling financially through weekly food drives, solving family issues, rehabilitating and skilling people.

Lucky Matabela said that the shoes and sanitary pad initiative is something that has been burning in his heart for a very long time.

He added that the initiative was not just about giving away shoes or sanitary pads but rather planting a seed in a child, a seed of hope.

“Because I grew up in the township and I was raised by my grandmother, I know how it feels to lack a small thing such as school shoes. Because no matter how brilliant you can be at school, if you have a torn shirt or shoe the impact is dire. You end up having low self-esteem.”

Matabela said that going out there and giving a child shoes gives hope and dignity to a child thus helping them to look forward to going to school each morning.

He added that the initiative has been there and was beginning to grow which was why he decided to go all out using his non-profit organisation to support less-fortunate children.

“Right now we need more entrepreneurs to give in and add onto the little that I have popped out. The need is dire, therefore you can donate as many sanitary pads and school shoes as you can.

“To make your donation, you can contact me on WhatsApp 061 449 5081 or cell 083 342 3975 and I will give you details on how to donate or you can even buy the school shoes and sanitary pads and I will pick them up.

Matabela concluded that they would not target specific schools but were also looking at visiting informal settlements because there was a huge need as many people cannot afford a mere meal, let alone school shoes and sanitary pads.
