A successful New Year Market

MIDRAND — On the day there were lots of stalls at the market including Tri-Vortex, Farm Boyz, Biltong Warriors, Chris’s Meat, The Fish and Chips, and Hanny’s Sauces amongst others.


Even though it was a rainy day, nothing could dampen the spirits of visitors and vendors as several hundred visitors braved the weather to attend the New Year Market on January 8.

The Midrand Circles Market takes place every Saturday at 118 Allan Road, Glen Austin A/H, Midrand, and some visitors have favourite stalls which they frequent each week.

However, the stalls are ever-changing and everyone is warm and friendly, and there are lots of smiling faces and unique products.

The Midrand SPCA stall, which is sponsored by the Midrand Circles Market, is always busy as it offers a wide variety of pre-loved books and other nick-knacks which are donated by the public.

Margaret Melville the organiser of Midrand Circles Market expressed her gratitude towards all the vendors and visitors.

“A big thank you to Lynda Egerton who makes the SPCA stall possible. She donates her time and energy every Saturday because of her great love for animals. Her dedication and resilience are so greatly appreciated by the community as a whole,” Melville said.

Dino of Dinos Cut & Go, is a professional hairdresser who offers haircuts at unbeatable prices.
Melville believes that the market is the sole source of income for many of the vendors as it is a community-based farmers’ market.
