Construction is currently underway on Allandale Road, K73, in Midrand after the Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport approved upgrades for the road and Woodmead Drive.

Ward 132 councillor Annette Deppe said the work that had been done so far seemed to be going well. She added, “The current traffic towards Kyalami Preparatory School is not due to road upgrades but the pressure from the school. I have requested that the contractor speak to Outsurance pointsmen to help direct traffic as is it gets heavy.”

Deppe said some people have been approaching the contractor to hand over their business profiles in a bid to get involved in the project. “I am asking those people to stop approaching the contractor saying they represent Ward 132. An advertisement for SMMEs will be published early next year and they can submit their applications to be involved in the project.”
