Royals keep Tigers on their toes

IVORY PARK – Midrand Royals Netball Club's coach, Tshepang Malapile said that she was impressed by her girls' performance as they kept using their strategy throughout the game

Local netball girls forced their opponents to keep rotating their players due to the fast pace of the recent game.

Midrand Royals Netball Club’s U17 team beat Clayville Tigers Sports Development Club U17s 16–7 on October 23 at Lord Khanyile Stadium in Ivory Park.

Midrand Royals coach Tshepang Malapile said in the first half, their strategy was to capitalise on the mistakes of their opponents and the team did just that.

She added that in the second half, the Tigers made a tactical substitution to counteract Royals’ goal attack. “She [goal attack] was converting them, so they substituted with a taller goalkeeper, however, it was rather too late for them as the damage was already done,” she said.

“I am impressed with the growth of the players, and the fact that they implemented everything strategy-wise made me happy.”
