Soulfood donates much-needed food to school

PRESIDENT PARK – Amogelang Moloabi, fundraiser administrator for Nokuphila Primary School, said that Soulfood's regular donations to their food pantry relieved the pressure on their food budget enormously.

A local school received much-needed food parcels with ingredients to prepare meals filled with love.

As part of the United Nations World Food Day, non-profit organisation Soulfood, sponsored by Avbob, donated the food parcels to the Nokuphila Primary School

on October 15.

The food parcels included fruit, vegetables, canned fish, rice, macaroni, and other non-perishables.

David Sehlapelo, the area manager for Soulfood Tshwane which includes Midrand, Tembisa, and Alexandra, said the school has been one of their recipients for a long time. With that in mind, it was a no brainer for them to support the school as they have always done.

Funding administrator Amogelang Moloabi welcomed the donations on behalf of the school, adding that Soul Food was a loyal and generous donor towards caring for the health and well-being of their learners.

Moloabi added that the organisation did not only donate on United Nations World Food Day, but donated nutritious food, vegetables and fruit on weekly basis.

She said, “Their regular donation to our food pantry relieves the pressure on our food budget enormously as Nokuphila School is a fully donor-funded school for vulnerable children from Thembisa and the surrounds.

“We are truly thankful for their continued and steadfast partnership, especially during these more trying times of Covid-19.”

Sehlapelo added that other non-profit organisations can contact him to also benefit from their donations.

He concluded that the organisations should have all the supporting

documents, such as the non-profit organisation certificate. He will then visit the organisations to assess what is needed so that Soulfood can form a working relationship with them.
