‘Hijacked’ truck is recovered

MIDRAND – The Midrand Police recovered a delivery truck linked to a hijacking in Krugersdorp.


Officers of Midrand Police Station recovered a truck on 2 March that had been hijacked in Krugersdorp.

Spokesperson for the Midrand Police Station Constable Elliott Mabulane said the truck was stopped on the corner of Maxwell Drive and the K101. During preliminary police’s investigations, the officers discovered that the truck had been hijacked in Krugersdorp.

The driver of the delivery vehicle was taken to Midrand Police Station where he made contact with his supervisors who came to the station with the documents that proved their ownership of the vehicle.

Mabulane added that the vehicle had indeed been hijacked and recovered but had not been cleared on the police system as been recovered, and procedures would be followed during the investigation to finalise the case. The truck was taken to the police storage facility in Johannesburg.
