One suspect arrested, two on the run

RABIE RIDGE – Three suspects allegedly robbed a Rabie Ridge tuckshop of R3 000 with a toy gun.


One suspect has been arrested and two more are on the run following a business robbery on 21 February in Rabie Ridge.

Sergeant Dipolelo Moremi, acting spokesperson for Rabie Ridge Police Station said at about 2.30pm, three armed suspects entered a tuck shop on Strandloper Street in Rabie Ridge demanding cash.

Moremi said the suspects took cash amounting to R3 000 and fled the scene. “While driving by the scene, two members of the South African Police Service’s Tactical Response Team saw what was happening and started chasing the suspects, managing to catch one of them.”

A toy gun was recovered from the arrested suspect. Moremi added that the suspect was due to appear in the Tembisa Magistrates’ Court soon. She concluded that the case was still under investigation as the two suspects were on the run.
