Many people like to splurge during the festive season. But if you’re looking for something fun to do on a budget then why not try out a picnic.

Here are cheap ideas for a picnic:

Plan out what you would like to include in your picnic basket. This can include some sweet and savoury snacks such as wraps, samoosas, chips, biscuits and cupcakes.
You could make a portable cooler from a cardboard box lined with a plastic garbage bag. Load cold food into the cooler and place ice packs on top.
Do not forget to include hats, sunglasses, blankets and umbrellas. You can also bring your own cutlery, glasses and plates or use cardboard utensils and plates for a quick clean-up.
Don’t forget to bring along some entertainment. You could pack a board game, a pack of cards or a ball to play some fun games while you enjoy your afternoon out.
