Novalis House shares their year-end message

BLUE HILLS – Novalis House shares their 2020 experience.

General manager of Blue-Hill organisation Novalis House Mary Owen writes:

This year saw the many challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown.

With strict health and safety protocols in place to minimise the risk of exposure to our beneficiaries and staff, our programmes continued in the new normal of self-distancing, mask-wearing and keeping cleaning standards at a maximum.

Our very successful charity shop project that was initiated in 2019 was closed to the public during the past seven months. We are now able to welcome back our customers and hope to recover some of the loss in revenue from this very successful fundraising project.

As the year draws to a close, we hope that the New Year will prove to be a successful one for the organisation as Novalis House relies heavily on income from fees, workshop activities, charity shop sales, donations and fundraising to sustain the activities of the organisation.

In 2021 Novalis aims to fill the vacancies in the residence and day workshop, and to run at full capacity, source new work contracts for the protective workshop programme and look for potential donors to support the building of a new workshop, which will provide a work area for 100 people, as well as storage facilities for the contract work while it is on-site.

The board of directors, management, staff and beneficiaries of Novalis House would like to sincerely thank all their supporters, donors and funders, for their valued contributions during 2020, and wish everyone a joyous festive season and most blessed 2021.
