Ivory Park Secondary School welcomes generous donation

IVORY PARK – Ivory Park Secondary School received a donation of sanitisers and masks.

Carewell Emergency Ambulance Services recently paid a visit to Ivory Park Secondary School learners and teachers to drop off an invaluable donation.

The company donated 250 masks to learners and teachers. In addition, the Carewell team also donated 120 litres of sanitiser.

Public relations officer at Carewell, Thabi Langa said his team used the opportunity to help the community. “We believe in giving back to our communities because we understand situations faced by townships and public schools. Our main goal is to teach learners how to prevent the spread of the virus and also offer our services.”

Langa added that the learners need to learn about the virus before they can commence with classes. He emphasised that, as healthcare practitioners, he believes it is their duty teach people about the virus, “And also spread relevant information to the public about the importance of complying with the law at all times.”

School principal Edith Mamosebo was happy to accept the donations. “We are so relieved to have donors who kept their promises. The school has been promised many donations in the past but no one dared to show up and fulfil those promises. Carewell has managed to close that gap and shed light on our school as they kept their word.”

The Carewell team has also offered to teach learners how to practise safety measures when they are a faced with illness at home. They will create video clips about the prevention of Covid-19 which will be aired in every classroom before lessons commerce.

Learners and teachers from the school were over the moon after receiving the donations.
