Security company urges residents to comply with lockdown rules

MIDRAND – CEO of Ria Sebetsa Security Danny Maduray is concerned about the lack of compliance he has seen.

Ria Sebetsa Security Services urges community members to adhere to the lockdown regulations.

CEO of Ria Sebetsa Danny Maduray says he is concerned about the lack of compliance he has observed in areas covered by Ria Sebetsa.

“The pandemic is real. But, people are not taking the rules laid out by government seriously. People are driving with fake permits,” he said.

Maduray said that he has seen people congregating at shopping malls and shopping centres and there is increased traffic on the roads. “People do not realise the repercussions of such a dangerous pandemic. Let’s just say it hasn’t hit home as yet.”

He said he had also observed complex body corporates relaxing the rules and allowing easier access to everybody. “Residents do not want to follow access rules. They hide visitors in the complex, putting pressure on security personnel.”

Maduray said that there are many people taking chances. “We have been swift in working with the police to curb unnecessary underhand dealings that prey on vulnerable members of the communities.

“The biggest message I want to give to residents is to comply with these lockdown rules so that this ban can be lifted, rather than losing one of our loved ones because of our ignorance.”

He concluded, “It is not the rules of Ria Sebetsa, neither the SAPS, but regulations of our government.”
