Midland Primary School learners get excited about new classrooms

CROWTHORNE – Midland Primary and High School opened five new classrooms for their learners.


Midland Primary and High School celebrated a milestone as they unveiled five new classrooms for their Grade 7 and 8s.

Principal Sharira Padayachy said, “Our school started in 2012 and we’ve been growing gradually. Recently, we noticed the need for additional classrooms – bigger classrooms with more natural light.”

The project started in October last year and finish in February. “With these additions, our learners have more comfort. There is more air conditioning for them with more space and reduced noise from being in one building with other grades.”

“This is very exciting to have a school that can do these sort of things for these learners and I’m very happy that we can give our learners these opportunities. Seeing the growth that we are going through, makes me very happy.”

She added that she hopes the children take pride in their school and look after the new classrooms.

The school hosted a special ribbon cutting during their assembly where they showed off the new developments at their school. Teacher at the school Karen Moodley said, “I am very excited about the classrooms. We have a field right outside the classes to assist with practicals and outside time for learning. We also have new whiteboards, tables and projectors to accommodate our learners.”
