Miss Universe returns for her home on 8 February

JOBURG – After spending a few weeks in the United States, where she was crowned Miss Universe 2019, Zozibini returns touth Africa for a weeklong homecoming tour.


Miss Universe 2019, Zozibini Tunzi will be coming back home on Saturday,  8 February.  Gautrain is offering free rides to those who wish to welcome her at OR Tambo International Airport.

The free trips to the airport will be between 6.30am and 8am on from Park, Pretoria, Midrand and Marlboro stations.  Then, from 9am to 11am, you will also be entitled to a free trip back to these stations from the airport.

Simply look for the Gautrain personnel at the fare gates and state the passcode #GautrainTookMeThere to receive an armband.  “This armband will entitle you to ride the Gautrain to the airport on 8 February 2020 to give our amazing Zozi a homecoming fit for a queen, and then back again. No armband, no free trip,” said Gautrain in a statement.

“Please note that only those who are not carrying luggage (in other words, not flying out from the airport) may take advantage of this limited promotional offer.”

To travel for free, the following terms and conditions apply:

  • A supporter must wear an armband that they will receive from dedicated ambassadors at one of the four stations after giving the passcode “Gautrain took me there” to the ambassador.
  • Ambassadors will be wearing Gautrain-branded caps and will be standing in the station’s unpaid area (in front of the fare gates).
  • Please note that armbands are not available from the Gautrain’s OR Tambo International Airport Station
  • Drop-offs at a station are recommended.
  • Going to the airport, supporters can only enter the four Gautrain stations for free between 6.30am and 8am.
  • Returning from the airport, supporters can only enter the Gautrain system for free between 9am and 11am.
  • Free parking is available only at Park, Pretoria, Midrand and Marlboro stations on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • When entering a parkade, take a paper ticket and keep it safe until your return (please do not use your bank, Gautrain Gold or Swift cards to enter the parking as you will then be charged non-rail user rates for the parking).
  • It is recommended that you use the drop-off zone to enter the parking area.
  • Returning to the station after the event, the eligible supporter must present the paper ticket and armband at the ticket office in order to receive a free exit from the parkade.
  • Persons who are flying in and out of OR Tambo (with or without luggage) will not be eligible for an armband and will have to pay the applicable airport fare.
  • Returning from the airport, only a person with an armband will be able to use the free service;
  • Supporters undertake to adhere to crowd control measures at any station in the event of high demand for the train service.
  • Eligible supporters are advised to use the passenger coaches only, not the airport coaches. The train doors will be opened at OR Tambo International Airport Station.
  • Free travel is only allowed if there is adequate rail service and parking capacity available.
  • No free travel on Gautrain buses.
