Christ Church kids are ready to race

NOORDWYK – Christ Church Preparatory School and College hosted their annual prep gala.


The Christ Church Preparatory School and College was filled with excitement as they hosted their annual prep gala on 30 January.

The school pool area was abuzz with high spirits and competition as the learners from grades 3 to 7 participated in the war cries and various swimming events.

Deputy principal of the school William Mckee said, “The gala is great day out for the preparatory school pupils. Though the Grade 1 and 2 pupils do not swim on the day we push participation among all our students.”

He added that the day gives a sense of belonging to a lot of the learners as well as the opportunity to work and spend the day together in their individual houses while fostering a sense of community among them all.

The day saw the school’s houses – Acacia, Cedar and Olive – go head-to-head. At the end of the day, Acacia came out on top winning the overall gala, with Olive and Cedar took second and third place respectively. The House Spirit trophy went to Cedar house.
