MIDRAND – The Midrand CPF elected their Sector 5 committee.


The Midrand Community Policing Forum elected the new committee for the newly restructured Sector 5 on 28 November.

The old Sector 5 included the Midrand central business district, which will now be included in Sector 1. The new police boundaries for Sector 5 will stem from Jukskei View, Waterfall Estates, Waterfall City, Mall of Africa, Kyalami Glen, Kyalami on Main, Barbeque Downs and Plooysville.

Station Commander for the Midrand Police Station, Brigadier David Tsotsotso said that the police’s business was straight and with the area consistently growing, the police will need to bring as much assistance as possible.

The meeting saw the following people elected to the committee:

• Chairperson: Samantha

Cholewka

• Vice-chairperson: Shaun Victor

Benningfield

• Secretary: Ragani Govender

• Operations and police

coordinator: Angus Morton

• Public relations, marketing and

fundraising manager: Percy Ingel.

The election did not see the appointment of a vice-secretary which will be organised at a later stage.

Newly appointed chairperson Samantha Cholewka thanked everyone at the meeting for their confidence in her for the role and said that she was excited to get started in working with the police.
