Midrand detectives go on a tracing operation

MIDRAND – The suspect was arrested on Tuesday morning, 12 November, for a fraud he committed on 2 March 2018 at a tyre shop.

Yesterday morning, 12 November, Midrand Police Station detectives embarked on a tracing operation. During the operation, a 37-year-old man was arrested for reckless and negligent driving through a warrant of arrest because he had failed to appear at court and the police were looking for him.

The spokesperson for Midrand Police Station, Sergeant Matome Tlamela, said the incident happened at the N1 South, on Alexandra Road, Halfway Gardens on 22 December 2015 at 8.50pm. “The man will appear in court soon.”

Tlamela added that another arrest was made during the tracing operation through a warrant of arrest. “The suspect was arrested on Tuesday morning, 12 November, for a fraud he committed on 2 March 2018 at a tyre shop, 16th Road Midrand.”

She explained that the suspect ordered tyres and produced a fake receipt as proof of payment, ‘hence he did not pay for the tyres that were delivered to him. The man will appear  in court soon facing charges of fraud. Crime does not pay’.
