Christ Church Preparatory School and College matrics marked their last assembly with a special tradition on 2 October.
Spokesperson for the school Zeenath Sathiah said the new tradition began after last year’s matriculants gave the school a special bell as a gift.
She added, “This year our Grade 8s rang the bell at the beginning of the year to symbolise the start of their high school career, and on 2 October our 2019 matric pupils rang the bell to symbolise the end of their school career.
“It was a beautiful moment, with mixed emotions of us being enthusiastic about what the future holds for these pupils, as well as sadness that we will be saying farewell to them.”
