The Midrand police arrested a suspect for possession of drugs in Halway House Gardens. Spokesperson for the Midrand Police Station, Constable Thabiso Selowa said the arrest was made on Market Street at 5pm on 29 July.
Police were patrolling the area when they noticed a suspicious male at the taxi rank. Selowa said the officers introduced themselves as police and asked to search the suspect when they found a small packet containing a white powder believed to be drugs.
The suspect was arrested and detained at the Midrand Police Station facing charges of possession of an illegal substance and he has since appeared in the Midrand Magistrates’ Court. The investigation is ongoing.
