Bathabeleng Children’s Home treated to a generous donation

IVORY PARK – The Bathabeleng Children's Home had a day of fun with Keller Williams Realty.


The Bathabeleng Children’s Home received a generous donation from Keller Williams Realty who took part in Red Day on 9 May.

Operational partner at Keller Williams Real Estate Franko van Zyl said that Red Day was initiated by Keller Williams Realty which focuses on giving back to the local community that each branch around the world serves.

He added, “This falls in line with our culture, where we believe that we have to give back to our community. This year we have chosen Bathabeleng as our beneficiary.”

The company collected various goods such as toys, hygiene products and food gathered through community donations at a drive hosted at Carlwald Spar at the end of April.

They also received generous sponsorship from Carlswald Lifestyle Centre, MC van der Berg Attorneys and Nedbank who contributed R5 000 to the initiative.

The kind-hearted Keller Williams employees paint the children’s faces.

Batheleng Children’s Home was founded in 1997 with the sole purpose of looking after abandoned babies and orphans in the Ivory Park area.

The home already operates a community crèche for children in the local community.

Principal of the crèche Itumeleng Sehumelo said, “We wanted to provide a home and learning space for the underprivileged children in the area.”

He added, “We didn’t expect the donation at all. We are speechless and appreciate the heartfelt support.

“This donation will make the little children’s lives much easier. Anything they can get will assist.”

Founder of the home Petunia Morwesi said that they are extremely thankful for the kindness shown by the realty company.

The company’s employees, manager and partners enjoyed some time with the children and played games with them at the home.
