Body of man with gunshot wound to the head found near Jukskei River in Midrand

MIDRAND – A man's body has been found near the Jukskei River.

An investigation is underway after a body of a man was found on the corner of Old Pretoria Road and Maxwell Drive in Midrand.

The spokesperson for the Midrand Police Station Sergeant Matome Tlamela said, “A body of a male between the age of 30 and 40 was found close to the Juskei River on Friday morning [30 November].”

He added that the body had a gunshot wound to the head. Police are appealing to anyone who has information in helping to identify the body and offer the following description:

“The deceased has black plaited hair and appears to be coloured. He was wearing a grey tracksuit, blue T-shirt and black takkies.

“He was also wearing a gold bangle on the left wrist.”

Police suspect that he might have been reported as missing. The body is at the Johannesburg general mortuary.
