Midrand police pleased with arrest of 5 suspects for drugs in Halfway House

MIDRAND – Five men were arrested after they were found in possession of drugs in Midrand.

 

Five men were arrested following a stop and search on Old Pretoria Road by the Midrand police on 2 September in Halfway House, Midrand.

Officers stopped a vehicle in which the five occupants were travelling in.

Midrand police spokesperson Sergeant Matome Tlamela said, “All the occupants were asked to step out of the vehicle before police commenced with a search of the men and vehicle. Police found drugs stuffed in a bag which included powder and tablets.”

The officers asked the men who the drugs belonged to but none of them was able to answer therefore all five were arrested and charged for being in possession of drugs.

The suspects appeared in the Midrand Magistrates’ Court court on 3 September and were granted bail of R1 000 each.
