An Ivory Park beauty with brains

MIDRAND – A young woman from Ivory Park in pursuit of Miss Eagle crown.

A 23-year-old from Ivory Park who is also a Miss Eagle South Africa semi-finalist and brand ambassador of Motofind.co.za, shares her story.

Tankiso Ngkontsi said since the pageant is about beauty with brains and purpose, she is in the process of writing her own book. A book that says a lot about what young people go through daily but are afraid to open up about because they don’t want to be judged.

The Miss Eagle semi-finalist said from the moment she was selected as one of the contestants in this competition, she knew that she first had to believe in herself before she can convince someone else to feel the same way about themselves.

She added, “I can’t really say that I’m a novice when it comes to being engaged in community events because I have participated in many safety and awareness campaigns, as well as a substance abuse campaign.

“Drugs are really a major issue in our communities and it is taking away so much of our youth’s future. I just want everyone to live in a healthy and safe environment.”

The finals will take place on 17 December at the Suncoast Hotel Durban, in KwaZulu-Natal.

Details: To vote for Tankiso, SMS ‘Tankiso’ to 35334. SMS costs R3.
