Rabie Ridge Police score high drug cases for May

MIDRAND – The arrests were made possible through road blocks and stop and search operations.

 

Drug possession was on the top list of arrests made by the Rabie Ridge and the Metro Police for the month of May.

Spokesperson for the Rabie Ridge Police Station Captain Mofana Masela said the arrests were a result of commitment and teamwork between the Metro police and the Rabie Ridge Vispol which has made a difference in crime prevention in the area. “The police conducted roadblocks, stop-and-searches, tracing and rapid response to crime scenes. It was through teamwork that the successes were achieved.”

Arrests for the month of May:

  • 45 for drug possession
  • 10 for reckless and negligent driving
  • 18 for drunk driving
  • 1 for possession of unlicensed firearm
  • 3 for theft
  • 4 for possession of suspected stolen vehilcle
  • 7 for malicious damage to property
  • 1 for suspected stolen copper cables
  • 4 for possession of stolen property
  • 3 for burglary
  • 15 for assault
  • 3 for murder
  • 6 for armed robbery
  • 2 for shoplifting
  • 10 for domestic violence
  • 1 for house robbery
  • 1 for possession of robbed vehicle
  • 1 for rape
  • 2 for attempted robbery
  • 4 for possession of hijacked vehicle
  • 21 for public drinking.
