Business Expo empowers local entrepreneurs with skills and knowledge

IVORY PARK – Business owners, emerging entrepreneurs and the community at large attended the Region A Business Expo recently.

The City of Joburg’s Library and Information Services hosted business owners, emerging entrepreneurs and the community at large for a Business Expo at the Ivory Park North Library on 18 to 19 April.

The aim of the event was to give out information and develop emerging entrepreneurs with skills and knowledge to help them counter the challenges they face with their businesses.

Community members were addressed by companies including: the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission, the National Credit Regulator, the Department of Trade and Industry, the Department of Small Business Development, the Small Enterprise Development Agency, the South African Revenue Services, the City of Joburg Supply Chain Management, Moja-Sibiya Attorney’s, the National Youth Development Agency and the Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Khoza Soloman from the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission addresses those in attendance at the Business Expo.

Those in attendance expressed their gratitude for the arrangement of such an expo, which they said was a rare offering for people in their communities. They proposed that the Business Expo become an annual event for their community.
