Midrand High School looking for sports sponsorship

Midrand High School is appealing to the community for sport and athletics kit sponsorship.

Sports administrator at the school Kwazi Shangase said as a Section 21 public school, they were facing many challenges with sports facilities and equipment.

He said there were about 1 200 children attending the school and more than 20 per cent participated in sports.

Midrand High School offers learners athletics, basketball, chess, cricket, hockey, netball, soccer, rugby and volleyball as extramural sports codes… Our school is one of the leading schools in sports and produce excellent junior athletes for our district and region.”

Shangase said each year the school had one or more teams participating at regional, provincial or national level. “We have some of our learners scouted for regional, provincial and national teams. We are trying to make the best of our situation in every way we can.”

The school needs sponsorship for 15 girls hockey outfits at a cost of about R5 500, 15 girl’s soccer kits costing about

R9 000 and R8 500 for 30 athletics team vests. The kits can be branded with the donor’s logo and sponsors can advertise at the school’s sports fields.

“The grandstands at the pavilion would be named after the sponsoring company, sponsorship boards would be erected around the field… [there will be] branding on the school’s athletics kit and scoreboard signage for the next 10 years. “There will also be ongoing acknowledgement and publicity as an active partner of the school.”
