Kaalfontein home needs your help

MIDRAND – Lebo Disability Home in Kaalfontein is calling on the community for donations and help.

Community member, Tania van Heerden visited the Lebo Disability Home in Kaalfontein, Midrand on 17 January.

“The home looks after about 40 disabled children suffering from epilepsy, autism, cerebral palsy and hydrocephalus,” said Van Heerden.

The home caters to both boys and girls and therefore space is at times a challenge when it comes to separating the two groups of children.

Van Heerden has called upon the community to assist the home with:

• Financial donations

• Food parcels

• Wheelchairs

• Burglar bars

• Medical staff to assist, specialising in different forms of therapy

• Cleaning products

• Volunteers

• Nappies for all ages

• Vehicle to assist in transporting the children to a hospital.

Van Heerden said, “Today’s visit was very emotional; I was impressed by what one woman has achieved on her own, without anything, after she gave up her business and her home to find her true calling, which is looking after disabled children.”
