From Ivory Park to Sona

MIDRAND – Ivory Park's Vuyolwethu Sibiya has been invited to attend the State of the Nation (Sona) address due to the hard work of Kuzondlula Motivational Tour.

Vuyolwethu Sibiya (26) the founder and leader of Kuzondlula Motivational Tour has been invited to attend the State of the Nation address (Sona) in Parliament, Cape Town.

Sibiya was raised and still resides in Midrand’s Ivory Park community where he visits multiple schools in the area throughout the year accompanied by various members of Parliament and role players in government and South Africa’s history.

Kuzondlula Motivational Tour was established in 2013 and has been growing yearly in its work. The organisation’s leader, Sibiya, was recently invited to America to participate in the 12 States Tour whereby upcoming leaders are trained for two weeks.

“I am pleased to receive such an invitation and recognition for my work in empowering the youth in the community,” said Sibiya.

“One of the things I picked up on in my recently attended American tour in August last year, is that South African youth is largely dependent on the government to fulfill its needs and wants, plus create opportunities for them, yet in other countries, young people are the innovation drivers and work hand in hand with their governments with ideas, strategies and plans that government may implement or support to assist the youth,” he said.

“I will be granted the opportunity to visit and observe the different parliamentary debates and be a part of the gallery during Sona. “This to me is a once in a lifetime opportunity and a chance to raise issues affecting young people to the role players in our country.”
