Midrand women set to flaunt their youth and beauty at Miss Eagle South Africa

MIDRAND – Two Midrand residents are gunning for the Miss Eagle South Africa crown.

Midrand will be represented by two young women at Miss Eagle South Africa.

The event will be held at the Sandton Convention Centre on 15 December and contestants from all nine provinces will compete, along with Monica Mofokeng from Noordwyk and Tankiso Ngkontsi from Ivory Park.

“My journey as a contestant in the pageant has been an interesting and life-changing experience. I was able to volunteer myself at two charities which gave me the chance to work and interact with people living in disadvantaged communities.

This opened my eyes to the severe state of poverty that some of our brothers and sisters live in,” said Mofokeng.

She continued, “I have entered numerous beauty pageants in my life and have been rejected many times but that did not discourage me. I continued to persevere and applied for more and more pageant opportunities.”

Tankiso Ngkontsi from Ivory Park hopes to win Miss Eagle South Africa.

Ngkontsi said, “I want to be a good example to young girls around my disadvantaged community. I want to share the message that its possible to be more than your environment and circumstances may force you to be.”

Details: If you want to vote for Mofokeng, please SMS Monica to 35334 and if you want to vote for Ngkontsi, please SMS Tankiso to 35334. Each SMS will cost R3.

Share words of encouragement for these two women on the Midrand Reporter Facebook page.
