Rabie Ridge police have shown good arrest results for the month of October and they aim to intensify efforts to combat crime.
“The police increased crime-fighting measures such as including community members and appealing to them to play a role in ensuring their community is safe by reporting crime,” said Rabie Ridge police spokesperson Captain Matsobane Masela.
Rabie Ridge police arrested 200 people for various crimes including:
- 43 for assault including grievous bodily harm and domestic related crimes
- 3 for rape
- 3 for common robbery
- 3 for dealing in dagga
- 3 for possession of unlicensed firearms
- 3 for armed robbery
- 2 for house robbery
- 4 for housebreaking and theft
- 3 for malicious damage to property
- 5 for theft
- 49 for drinking and driving
- 29 for possession of dagga
- 50 for public drinking.
Masela said a high number of arrests is good but at the same time, it’s a reflection of just how many people are involved in criminal activities in the community.
