31 arrests in three days by Midrand police

MIDRAND – Midrand police arrested 31 people for various crimes over the weekend.

Midrand police arrested 31 people for various crimes over the weekend of 25 to 27 August.

Warrant Officer Mmakgomo Semono, the spokesperson for Midrand Police Station, said he is pleased with the arrests and it also shows that the officers are on the ground and alert in curbing crime of all kinds.

The number of people arrested and their crimes are:

  • 5 for theft
  • 2 for shoplifting
  • 1 for possession of drugs
  • 2 for assault
  • 1 for possession of suspected stolen property
  • 1 for dagga
  • 16 for drunk driving
  • 1 for fraud
  • 1 for dealing in drugs
  • 1 for reckless driving.

Semono has warned the community to stay away from activities and substances that might get them in trouble with the law.
