Midrand Rugby Junior Club is here and ready for the game

MIDRAND – Youngsters from around Midrand have been given the opportunity to be part of a new junior rugby club.

The launch of Midrand Rugby Junior Club took place at Midrand High School from 26 to 30 June for children of high schools in the area.

The Midrand Junior Rugby Club is an offshoot of Midrand High School rugby and Midrand Rugby Development headed by coach and sports administrator Kwazi Shangase. He is also the Golden Lions Rugby Union area representative and facilitator for rugby development in Midrand.

“We have invited all the boys and girls in the community and from all the high schools between the ages of 14 to18 to come and be part of the fastest growing rugby development body in Midrand. We believe rugby can be played by anyone and that everyone should be given a chance to play irrespective of gender, size or age,” said Shangase.

The players chosen to be part of the Midrand Junior Club will play in the Golden Lions Rugby Union Junior Club League.

“… Midrand Junior Rugby Club has been established to give every child in Midrand an opportunity to play club rugby in a safe environment with their peers in their community.”

Midrand Rugby Junior Club is launched at Midrand High School.

All junior club practices will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at Midrand High School from 3 pm to 5 pm during school terms. Holiday practices are held from 10 am to 12 pm on the same days.
