Highveld Gardens Retirement Lodge in Midrand celebrated the life of Norah Lillico who turned a 102 years old on 10 April.
Lillico has one surviving child, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She can still walk by herself and has fairly good eyesight and hearing.
Her son, Andrew, said they were very privileged to have her alive at her age. “She gave us a great upbringing and passed on good values to us,” he said.
Matron at the Highveld Retirement Lodge, Yvonne Mohapi, said Lillico has been a resident at the lodge since 2012 and is very independent for her age. “She loves reading and storytelling. She never misses the daily newspapers. She is so blessed and does most of the things by herself,” Mohapi added.
