MIDRAND – Midrand's teen makes it to the finalists of 2017 Zee World Miss Commonwealth SA pageant.

Midrand resident, Palesa Bhebe is one of the top 36 finalists in this year’s Zee World Miss Teen Commonwealth SA beauty pageant.

The pageant encourages young girls to be ambassadors for change and to be the voice of their communities. All contestants are required to do to make a difference in their communities during the competition, is engaging with local charity organisations.

Bhebe said she entered the competition in November last year after seeing the amazing charity involvement that the pageant required. She had just finished writing her matric final exams and was looking for a new journey to explore.

“The fact that I love being in front of the camera is no secret. Fashion, runway modelling and photo shoots are all glamorous but that’s not all I was looking for. I was looking for an opportunity to get involved in community work, to learn and to build myself and others. That is exactly what this journey has been filled with,” she said.
