Well done, Maphutha Secondary School

MIDRAND – Thumbs-up for Maphutha Secondary School.

Maphutha Secondary School in Mayibuye has obtained 96.6 per cent pass mark for the 2016 matric class, making a staggering 18.9 per cent improvement from 2015.

The principal of the school, Kwena Nthlane, attributed the success of the matriculants to the cooperation between teachers and parents. The schoolgoers were provided with special tuition classes after school and during weekends. “Parents were called in and requested to work together with teachers and the learners to achieve good results. Extra classes were paid for by the parents which, in turn, paid off through their overall performance,” said Nthlane.

The school’s top achiever, Nhlamulo Mhlanga, passed with three distinctions.
“We are very proud and over the moon with the results. This is the first time in my career that I have received such an achievement. I want to thank all the teachers, parents and stakeholders for working together to produce these results. I also wish the Class of 2016 well for their future,” concluded Nthlane.
