Ford visits Midrand to talk largest multi-million dollar temple

MIDRAND – A fundraising tour in Midrand for a Temple in India will be held at ISKCON Midrand.

 

Business tycoon and great grandson of legendary businessman Henry Ford, Alfred Brush Ford is on tour in South Africa.

ISKCON Midrand Centre president, RadheShyam Das said Ford is here with his team as part of the second fundraising tour for the Temple of the Vedic Planetarium in India, which when complete, will be the world’s largest Vedic temple ever built.

The temple will display informative Vedic art, science and culture.

Das said, “We invite residents of Midrand and the larger Hindu community, leaders and organisations to come and listen to Ford speak at ISKCON Midrand on 25 September and meet the Temple of the Vedic Planetarium project team.”

In a statement, Ford explained, “The temple is being designed according to sacred architecture which has facilitated spiritual self-realisation for millions of people throughout the ages.

“Simply seeing the outside of the temple will evoke an appreciation and awaken the dormant devotion for God in every sincere seeker.”

Ford explained that construction continues to move forward and that fundraising continues unabated worldwide.

He continued, “We are also planning several tours in India in the remaining months of this year and into 2017, which include Gujarat and South India.”

The local tour commenced on 15 September and will continue for 10 days visiting temples and homes in the cities of Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg, as well as Botswana.

Ford is accompanied by His Grace Jananivas Prabhu, Braja Vilas and Svaha Prabhus, who will all be visiting the ISKCON Midrand Centre on 25 September.

The programme commences at 2.30pm at the ISKCON Midrand Centre situated at 135 Norfolk Road in Carlswald.
